How to use the RICE template

    What you'll need to get started

    • A list or general understanding of the work you or your team need to do

    • A shared understanding of your team or projects goals

    • An open mind

    Plot data

    • Project: What is the name of the project?

    • Priority: What is the level of urgency?

    • Reach: How many customers would be impacted within a certain time frame?

    • Impact: On a scale of 1-5, how would you rate the impact of this project?

    • Confidence: Your level of confidence in the project’s desired impact.

    • Effort: On a scale of 1-5, how easy or difficult the project will be.

    Use this formula to calculate your RICE score: (reach X impact X confidence) / effort
